Studio Catalogue

Studio was established in 1962, over 50 years ago. It started with the selling of paper products sold in a catalogue and has now developed into a huge online catalogue that sells a huge range of products from top brands. Studio offers flexible payments, which can help you to improve a bad credit score.

What does Studio sell?

There are over 40,000 items on the Studio website, with more being added nearly every day! Studio sells things that are essential and non-essential. Items include:

  • Clothing for men, women and children from a wide selection of brands for all budgets such as Nike, Vans, UGG, Jack & Jones and many more.
  • Child and baby products from a huge selection of brands at a competitive price.
  • Sports and leisure equipment
  • Home accessories and appliances
  • Technology and gaming products
  • Beauty or wellness products

Studio vs Competitors Prices

Very sells their products at a very competitive price, with plenty of products on sale at all times. With some products, there is a standard price across all sites. However, many of these sites will not offer the same interest-free payment options.

Studio sells their products at a great price. Also, they have regular sales, clearance items and huge discounts to save you money.

Studio sells a range of second-hand products that are in excellent condition. This is a unique feature that other credit catalogue sites do not always offer. This can save you even more money, and you will still get all the benefits of the purchase.

Credit Limit on Studio Account

When you open your account, Studio will offer you a credit limit that they believe is suitable for your circumstances. A typical starting credit limit for a Studio credit account is between £80 and £100. This is reviewed every 28 days, and it could be increased if you are reliable with payments.

Payment Options

Studio has two credit options to choose from regarding payments. The first option is to buy now, pay later. This lets you receive your item and delay the payment for up to a year. Depending on how much you spend will determine how long you can delay your payment but usually it will fall into either 6, 9 or 12 months instalments.

Buy now, pay later requires you to pay interest once you have finished paying off the purchase value. It is compounded, and at the end of the payment, you will be invoiced for it.

If you do not want to pay interest then there is a second option, which is called the interest saver plan. This allows you to spread the cost out over 3, 6 or 9 months, depending on how much you spend.

Once you have decided how you will pay off your purchase over time, you can then consider what payment method you will use. Studio has many payment method options that other online catalogues do not provide. These include:

  • Payment on the website: All this requires you to do is to log into your account and make a card payment online.
  • Paying by phone: Studio has a 24/7 line which you can call, the system will take your card details and make a payment.
  • Paying by cheque or postal order: Studio will attach a  Bank Giro Slip, which you will send to them for the amount that you need to pay.
  • Paying at the bank: Studio will send you a  Bank Giro Slip, and you can take payment over the counter at a bank branch.
  • Paying by Direct Debit: You can set up a direct debit, which ensures that you will always pay on time. This can be arranged if you call Studio up.

Studio does not offer express or free delivery, only a standard option. Standard deliveries for UK mainland addresses will cost you £4.99 and they will arrive at you within 3 to 7 days.

However, in certain areas in the UK (Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands) delivery will cost you £5.99. Or if you live in the Isle of Man, Scilly and The Channel Islands delivery will cost you £7.50.

If you have purchased a larger item then delivery will cost £19.99. You will know the size of your items as it will tell you on the checkout page. However, you can not get larger items delivered to The Channel Islands.

If you need to return your items for any reason, you can return them to Studio. They have a return window of 30 days. If your return is in the same condition it arrived in, you will be refunded for any payments you have made towards it, which can take up to 14 days.

Returns are free if you take them to a post office, or you can pay a fee of £2.80 if you would like Studio to arrange for Hermes to pick them up.

Benefits of Using Studio

Studio is a fantastic way to purchase the things you want or need whilst improving your credit score along the way. Improving your credit score is essential if you are looking to purchase large value items or services on credit. For example, if you want to buy a car, you will need to have a high credit score and it is very unlikely that you will be accepted with a low score.

So, if you responsibly use catalogues, they are an excellent way to build your score up. However, if you purchase more than you can afford, this can negatively affect your score. Therefore, only spend within your means to avoid any negative impacts.

A benefit of using Studio is that it allows you to spread the cost over a period of time, which makes payments much easier. Rather than paying ‌ upfront, which can often be unaffordable and require months of saving up, you can pay in instalments or at a time you will have the money available. This is much better than saving up for the purchase, as you can enjoy the goods immediately and pay on your terms.

Additionally, you can shop from Studio in the comfort of your home 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Shopping on the high street can be time consuming and stressful, and there are extra costs involved like public transport fees or petrol. So by shopping on Studio, you are being more cost and time-efficient.

Do Studio Credit Check?

To confirm your identity and provide you with a credit limit, Studio will run a credit check on you upon purchase. They will ask you for details about your employment status, salary and name and then run a quick check on you.

However, Studio will accept people with poor credit scores, and this can be increased over time if you prove to be reliable with payments.
